International technical exchange on export controls

On September 15-16 an "International seminar on technical exchange on export controls" took place in Yerevan on the initiative of the "Armenian Research Center of Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction" and Argonne National laboratory . Recent changes in the legislation regulating the sphere of export controls, international experience and features of making export and import more regulated, effective, as well as safe were discussed during the seminar.

The seminar participants were experts from the U.S. State Department, U.S. Department of Energy, and export control office of Germany (BAFA) .From the Armenian side government officials who are directly related to export control issues ( Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Economy, National Security Service, State Revenue Committee) were invited. During the event a series of reports were presented, including European Union export control system , Armenian integrated border management system, export control regulation attempts and so on. According to the workshops's participants discussed topics and the international experience were quite interesting and useful . The knowledge obtained as a result of sharing experience in the future will be very useful for making the export control process more efficient and secure.
